Burning .avi format movie to DVD-R to play on PS2..

I'm new to this whole burning movies onto a DVD to watch on a PS2 thing so I had a few questions..

First, I guess, it should be noted that I don't have ANY mods on PS2 (no SwapMagik or whatever), which brings me to my question..

I was browsing around a few threads and I noticed that people said they were having trouble playing an .avi formatted movie on their PS2 when they burned it to a DVD-R... so I decided to try and convert my .avi formatted movie using DivxToDVD, so it would play on my DVD...

It's going to take about 2 hours from the look of things and it's only at 19% now.. so my question is, will it work fine playing on my PS2 in the format that its converting to or will I have to do something else?

hey should work if not try using Win AVI Video Converter.does the trick converting avi to dvd which should work without any problems on ps2. theres the link http://www.soft32.com/download_25514.html
