I have used several programs including WinAVI, AVI2DVD, and dvdSanta and none of them seemed to work (dvd santa would dissappear or shutdown during the encoding). What are some really good and reliable programs I can download?

I am currently using the after dawn guide http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm...and had two questions:

    1) do subtitles converted in SRT2SUP come out as crappy as they look in that program?

2)In TMPGenc, does it usually take 23 hrs to encode an avi to dvd format?

Any tips, suggestions for an easier process?

How do I deal with subtitles? Does this also extract/encode the audio portion?
