hi someone accidenlty bought DVD+R for me instead of CD-RW. i have alot of videos(avi) on my pc that need back up. so i was wondering if anyone could give a step by step instructions of how to do it. if possible that is. any help from anyone appreciated.
ok, well to start off do you have a dvd burner? Do you have Nero(or any other burining software like Roxio)? If you answered yes to both of the above questions than you can burn dvds. Do you want to burn the dvds as data, so you can watch on avi dvd player or play on your computer? If so just burn as a "data" dvd. If you want to burn to DvD-Compiant material, then youll have to convert to that format. Nero can do it for you or there are guides on this site. GooD Luck
thanx for responding so quick.but i didn't get much i used to have nero but no more. i want to brun them into dvd+r so that i can aslo watch them on another pc. no software at the moment. sorry.
sorry. i couldn't find the guide anyway am just looking for for simple instructions am kinda new into the business. so am not good at it.
Well since its for backup im gonna guess you just want to burn the avis to dvd. (if not heres the guide gwendolin suggested http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946 ) unfochunatley, youre not going to be able to burn without software, sorry. You can get some free software like this http://www.download.com/BurnRight-CD-DVD/3000-2646_4-10374702.html it says it can burn data dvds, but ive never used it so give it a shot. There are many guides out there, but mostly for programs like nero, and such, but since burning data on a cd/dvd is so simple, i dont think there is many guides out there.
so you are basically saying that it's simple to burn avi file to dvdv+r. must be my lucky day. instead of tyring some unknown software. can i just get nero?? gwendolin offered me a link where i can get it. but i wasn't able to use.
Did you install it? download it then install it then just run nero smart start, its a very simple program to use.
Ok and just to answer your question It is if you arent going to try to play it in a standalone dvd player, if you just want it there as backup as an avi that wont play in a regular dvd player, yes it is very easy! You can also convert it so it can play in a regualr dvd player using nero, try this guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946 Good Luck
i couldn't see the screen shots. and there's no other way of following the instruction. the guy mention NERO vision which strangly i dont seem to be having. i just want to watch my videos/movies on a standalone player or my ps2.could anyway please jus post. some simple instructions to follow. simple and understandable language is appreciated as i don't have much expereince with nero nor burning file. thanx in advance.
