well im not really into piarcy but ill tell you anyway its best if you get WINISO then use that to open the .exe you have downloaded extract the contents into a file on your descktop then use nero and just drag and drop the files out of the folder on your desktop simple as that and its bootable too,

    1. Enough of the piracy talk :)
    2. What make/model of burner do you have?
    3. You dont need WinISO. Just use CDMage. CDMage is an extremely poweful (and free) utility that allows for all sorts of manipulation with almost any type of CD Image. With CDMage, you can scan a BIN/CUE for errors and corruption, fix any corruption found (remember to make a backup first!) as well as extracting data from CD Images and creating CUE files from BIN files. You can download CDMage from http://cdmage.orcon.net.nz/frames.html
    4. BF1942 has the following protections,

    Battlefield 1942 Safedisc 2.60.052
    Battlefield 1942 v1.2 Safedisc 2.80.010
Battlefield 1942 - Road To Rome Exp Safedisc 2.8
Battlefield 1942 - Secret Weapons Exp Safedisc 2.9

For steps for burning SafeDisc2 see http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/23699

    mrmont:
    1. That technique wont work
    2. You need to burn a cd image if anything... not a DataCD
    3. Most downloaded files are either straight BIN files or compressed BIN files, not EXEs_X_X_X_X_X_[small]ASUS A7V8X-X, AMD2500+
    Samsung 1024MB, PC2700
    360GB [3x120GB, 7200, 8MB]
    MSI Starforce, GeForce4 Ti4400 128MB

hi thanks for the information but you are mistaken you can use winiso extract the files to a folder then drag and drop using nero quite perfectly no image needed at all, but you will need a no cd crack.

I am aware that you can extract with WinISO and burn as a DataCD but....
    (a) That is not the point of backing up games.... to make a 'backup' and still need a noCD negates the purpose of making a backup in the first place
    (b) noCDs limit you to a certain version of the game and that too is counterproductive to backing up a game
    (c) the WHOLE point of making a backup copy is just in case the original gets toasted. Piracy is another issue altogether. For those looking to make legitimate backups, you shouldnt be resorting to noCDs.... waste of time, much more hassle etc.

    1. I dont judge people I dont know. What he does is his business... i dont nose around nor presume things about people

    2. I answer most of my questions purely from a technical perspective. They have questions, I have answers (sometimes).

    3. You forget that not everyone may have your skills in backing up protected games and such and if they want to legitmately back games up they must resort to downloading images and such from the net.

    4. When you show someone something... you should put the effort in to show them the right technique and the right methods first and then offer them a quick way out if it seems to be above their heads or what not. I dont like showing someone the wrong way to do something if i can help it.

i wasnt getting at your technique im sure it works a treat, but i could see by his question what he was getting at, so i told him what i knew would help him as i know it works and was pretty simple,

i didnt have to nosey around in his business i could see that he said he downloaded it from kazaa.

but im sure in the future when he gets the hang of thing he'll resort to your method so in a way we were both right and both helped him..,, the main reason for the site is to help and thats exactly what we did regardless of technique dont you think??

Don't be so quick to discount people m8. I'm sure he deserves more credit (even if he doesnt I will give him more credit than that)

"No cd patches" is the easy way out! You can learn from this forum what "hardware" and software to use to backup Safedisc without the aid of pitiful no cd patches. I literally despise them but hey, do whay you gotta do.....

    Shoey :)

at the end of the day he downloaded it from kazaa as .EXE file so i told him a easy way to burn to disc, yours are forgetting it is NOT an original he might need a no cd crack, which arnt hard to come by, and maybe he dosnt care as long as he can play the game.. not have a lecture on whats right and wrong.. but the eaisest way to do it,

i dont like no cdcracks as i have originals and dont need to resort to kazaa but some dont have a choice and need them

LOL SHOEY,, and what was funny about shoey saying "pitiful no cd patches" nothing funny said there,, unless you trying to score browny points of the moderator

lol you are too funny. Perhaps you havent been around long enough. I dont need to 'score' points with the Moderator. You seem awfully defensive and testy for someone who is adamant about being right.

Whereas you may be a know-it-all (who seems to have an awful lot of questions for some reason) with regards to backing up games, there are those who want to learn those are who I cater to, not those who make judegement calls on other peoples behalf. Now really, grow up - if you read through the posts, notice how i give detailed information about how to solve a problem and such. I dont run around firing off posts for kicks and giggles and I certainly dont go around judging people and putting them down.

So if you want to post something helpful, feel free to. If you want to harrass and judge, kindly keep it to yourself (of course, if you feel the need to post such comments, it is well within your rights to do so - dont ever say I violated your freedom of expression)
