let's say i have somes files, image.img, image.sub, image.cue, and image.ccd. using alcohol, it gives me an error message saying "waiting for CD to insert" when i tried to burn either the .cue or the .ccd file in a DVDR. the problem is the .img file is over 700MB, so how can i split the file then burn in 2 CDs? another question is when i have .ccd and .cue at the same time, which should i choose to burn? or either one is fine? i know cue/bin can't be burnt to a DVD, but cue/img can, correct? thanx a lot.
Instead of using a blank DVD-/+R disc, try using a blank CD-R disc instead using .cue to burn the image in alcohol. The image maybe over 700 MB for a CD-R disc, try it anyways and see if it will burn. I'll explain everything to you and answer your question once you tried that.
i used CloneCD and burned the the .ccd files to CDRs, successfully. the .img files were over 700MB, but it wasn't a problem. i am still puzzled about whether i can burn .ccd to DVDR, and how can it fits in a CDR.
That's because image files has sub-channel or raw data that is not seen on the cd itself and is layered with the regular data like the layout of the cd, etc. That's why you get the extra size in the image file. As for not being able to burn the image on a DVD, that's because the imaged disc you obtained came from a regular CD and not a DVD. That means the image file was layed out as a CD orginally. Thus you can only burn an image that was copied from a CD to a CD-R disc. If the orginal imaged program came from a DVD, then you would only be able to burn the orginal DVD image to a DVD+/- R disc.
