What do I have to do to burn CD-R cds that will play on a 1992 cd player (just like the Comercial CDs do)?

I think you might have to get a new CD player, unless there is a way to update the Legacy Player

Cannot update legacy equipment. Note when I buy a mew Comercial CD it plays just fine on Legacy Player.

Pressed discs and burnt discs are physically different. Some, particularly earlier CD players, may not read every type of CD-R media. Something to do with reflective layer or such.
You may need to try different brands of media.
CD-Rs come in different capacities, perhaps you should stick to a 650MB 74minute blank.

Perhaps the CD player has aged and is not suited to reading burned CD-Rs?
