this is driving me nuts no matter what program i use IMGBURN, Nero, XBC, its giving me a different message from different programs as well..

it doesnt ever even do 1% sometimes crashes after the write in sometimes doesnt even do that.

im using verbatim DVD+R DL writing at 2.4x and they singapore based v.s

my laptop is a samsung q35

TEAC DV-W28EA, i believe it has the current drivers but not sure since TEAC website is a joke

any help direction would be great as at $40 for 25 disks i dont really want to keep coasting these disks!

What verbatims do you use? I am especially interested in the burning speed yours support because the max your burner does support is 2.4x.

I wanted to know about the burning speed, there are Verbatims that support 2.4x speed and others that support 8x. Those that support 8x aren't that good to burn with 2.4x speed.

right well these are 8x but i didnt really think twice about it as i thought that was the max and wouldnt matter as long as i selected the speed at 2.4x

some tests have shown that slower is not always better. too many variables to list here but when you do find a speed that works well with your hardware and media then stick to it!

What does the ImgBurn log show when it fails?

According to the specs of that drive on the manufacturer's site, it only supports a maximum burn speed of 2.4X for any DL media, regardless of the rated speed. You could try getting some of the older 2.4X rated Verbatim discs (43572), although I think they've been discontinued now. It might be time to get a new burner!
