I record movies (pay per view) from DishTV to the PVR and then have been burning them to DVD on a stand alone DVD player/recorder. Now many movies are being copy protected where I get a message from the DVD recorder and it won’t record the movie. I tried copying to a VCR and then from there to the DVD recorder and had the same problem. What software should I get to record from the DishTV PVR to my computer so I can burn a DVD on it. I want to play the DVD’s on regular players. What else do I need to know.

the easiest and most basic way is to instal a video capture card on ur pc. then play and record. if this is a hd signal u will lose that and it will be sd. the video card should have the connections for u to hook the dvr to it then just play and capture. the software should come with the card or u can use nero. i havent done this in awhile so im not 100% sure. there are also cables that remove macrovision avaliable too, try doing a google search for them.
