I have no idea how to do this but i want to take the dvds that i have right now and burn them onto new dvds. I know i need a software and special discs and a burner or something but honestly i have no idea. I would like to know the most basic and easiest way to start this. What software do i need?? What kind of burner do i need? What kind of discs do i need? Thanks a lot!
The software I would reccomend is 1 DVD Decrypter to remove any copy protection and 2 DVD Shrink or NeroRecode. All these progs are available here. 1 DVD Shrink 2 DVD Decrypter 3 NeroRecode2 buy good quality blanks such as taiyo yuden or verbatin...STAY AWAY FROM MEMOREX. Heres a couple of guides to follow http://www.dvdplusvideo.com
Wait till some of your burns fail and then say that. Cheers and thanks. As for burners its your choice, try and get one that will do dual layer DVDs...dont ask about dual layer YET. I have a Pioneer which I really like.
Now i know i need some sort of burner. My computer was a compact disc recordable rewritable, and a DVD ROM so what do i need to burn DVDS? Im very new to this and i want to apologize.
your cdr burner isnt enough, but you can burn vcd's with it.You will need to trade that burner in for one that will read and burn onto dvd discs Prefer you get a dvd burner with 16x dual layer You already have the dvd rom so thats pretty cool. Now if you want a program that utilises both the burner and the rom at the same time.Try clonedvd version2 with slysofts Anydvd.Clonedvd will read the source disc via the dvd rom, transfer the files to a temp folder on your hard drive and then burn the files to your destination drive (dvd burner) with the click of a couple of buttons.Slysofts Anydvd runs in the background and allows clonedvd to bypass both the css (encryptions)and the rce (region codes) that are inherent in most commercially made dvds
Im not sure on whether to get a internal, or an external burner. My only concern with the internal is that i will not beable to set it up correctly. With an external all you do is plug it in with the USB cable right? Some input would be nice on brands too. Im looking to spend about 60 or 70 bucks on one.
LG,Pioneeer, samsung, all brands i have used and work very well. Its really up to you if you get a usb or internal, both work rather well.Make sure you have usb 2.o though
Can someone hook me up with all the information that i need please!! Im really new to this and i just want to start off right. I know its all personal perefernce but i just need the hardware and software that works! I have a Gateway Computer with Pentium 3 on it and Windows XP. I recently downloaded DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. Please tell me what else i need to burn dvds. I know i obviously need a burner but the problem is i dont thing i would know how to hook it up if it was internal so should i get a external one? If so then how does the usb cable work. I dont know how fast mine is. -What burner should i get? Brand, Internal, External? -How would i set either one up? -What other programs or software do i need to burn a DVD? -What Rewritable DVDs should i use? Thanks a lot of it have any anwers i appreciate it!!
how old is your computer? If it is somewhat new (2-4 years) It should have USB 2.0. Go to your control panel and click system then click the hard ware tab then device manager. At the bottom expand universal serial bus controllers. Is there anything that says USB 2.0? Or 1.1?
If your only going to spend around 60-70 your not going to have good luck. You can buy a cheap internal for that much. Good internals are around $100. Externals will cost you $150- 200.
All it says is -Generic USB Hub -Intel(r) 82371AB/EB PCI to USB Univeral Host Controller -Usb Printing Support -USB Root Hub Does this mean i have a 2.0 USB?
It's 1.1 Upgrade to USB 2.0 or go with internal It's not hard to do either. Just follow the instuctions from the manuels or have somebody with knowledge do it.
Get an internal here for around 40 bucks US: http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Category.asp?Category=10 You don't have to spend a fortune to get an excellent drive. I have the NEC and love it. Installing the drive is not much harder than inserting a disc into the drive. Remove the cover from your PC. Locate your CD-Rom, look at the back of the drive. Notice you should have a data ribbon (skinny and flat) and a power supply. Remove both of these connections and then your drive. Place your shiney new DVD-RW drive in its place and hook it up the same as the other drive was. If you are running XP then it should automatically pick up the new drive. Get some canned air and blow out the dust and dirt out of your case while you've got it open. Replace your cover and start burning. You said that you had a DVD-Rom and a CD-Rom, make sure you take out the CD drive and leave the DVD drive in. Use the DVD-Rom to rip and your new drive to burn.
Thanks. Its great to know theres people out there that will give up some of their time to help out others.
No problem. I'm not an expert on PC's but I've installed 3 drives in my PC and a couple others for friends without err. Its really not a big deal.
big question all who can help have Double layer was burning fine till two weeks ago tryed to burn blade trinity failed now using new nero fails and some of the others except for shrink it but still compressess the data to smaller size even through i have a DL disk in the drive any suggestions!
@pinedari If I read your post correctly then you are using double layer blanks. If this is true then you don't need Nero or a similar prog to shrink the movie, because the whole thing should fit on a DL. All you should need is DVD Decrypter in ISO read mode, then select the MDS file it created as it contains the layer break info and burn in ISO write mode. What other progs that you mentioned failed to rip this movie? Are you using AnyDVD? You can try it for free for 21 days, and its available under the software tab for download on this website.
tryed anydvd but also failed but have alcohol 120% haven't tryed that but just the other day tryed shrink it and it worked so i think im ok so far, but! now still having problems with stealth!
