Hi guys, I have a problem with burning of dvds. Firstly, I have a Samsung DVD burner SH-S182D with the latest firmware. My media is Verbatim DVD+R, when i burn my discs, i usually burn at 4x. I have also read and followed the Golden rules of burning, but nothing worked. The Software i use is Nero 8, which i presume would be the latest one atm. The most likely causes for power calibration errors are faulty hardware and incompatible media (either bad quality or out of date firmware). In this case your firmware is up to date. - Make sure your data cable is securely seated to both the motherboard and the burner. Replace the cable if you have another handy. - Go back to an earlier OS restore point and try. - Use a registry cleaner and spyware cleaner. Since you're burning an ISO image file, try burning instead with the freebee ImgBurn. http://www.imgburn.com If that works, then I'm guessing something is amiss with Nero and the OS. If it doesn't work, try a different brand of media other than Verbatim. You could also try the 8X speed for burning. If that doesn't work (or do this first if you want to avoid wasting more disks), install your burner in another system and verify whether it actually works. If not, it's faulty in all likelihood and needs replacing. If it works in another system, backup your data, reformat your system HDD, and reinstall the OS.
