I will tell you now, that I am admitting to not reading all of the threads to find out, but from what I've read I still have a question. Is it possible to burn a copy of your Game Cube disks to make back-ups (my kids have a tendancy to some how get scratches on their DVD's, CD's, etc. - but, if you ask them, they don't have any idea how that could've happend **lol) so you don't have the chance of ruining your only copy of the game - by damage that is?

Now, I understand there is a mod chip and Max Drive Pro. Brucedlx wrote in a thread:

"Step 8: OK, the "Hacking" part is all done. What you need now is to find some gamecube iso-, err, "Backups" of your games. (These can be made yourself with a BBA, or, found from torrents, ftp, usenet etc.) I'm not gonna tell you where to get ISO's, this is one step you need to do by yourself, and should be able to do by yourself."

Is he saying that you can burn copies of GC disks, or downloads? I've done the back-up thingy w/ my PS2, so is GC about the same?

To make your own backup of a GC game, you have to use a BBA and stream it to your cube. Tends to just be easier to grab it from the internet.

But, it's a lot more difficult than just making a PS2 rip. You can't just put the original into your PC and rip it.
