Hey guys ,thanks for the help...........My question is I've got a zd7249cl HP laptop with a DVD R+RW burner..........Itried to back-up my "ISO HALO2" .................I used "Nero ultra 6","RecordNow 6.5"and"Roxio"............these programs tell me there's not enough free space on my blank disc.........Here the thing my "ISO HALO2" is around 4.507g ....................The blank disc is"Maxell DVD-R and DVD+R/RW"(4.7g OF FREE SPACE)............IF the "ISO" is 4.507g and the blank disc is 4.7g it should burn right.........But no wrong it say nit enough free space........please help.........By the way the program above say the blank disc only has 4.406g not 4.7g..............................SORRY SO MUCH TO READ THNKS NATE
From what I've read and understand, just because blank media says 4.7, it actually has only 4.37 I do believe. Is what I've noticed when I back up a movie unto one it only burns 4.3.
also i am surprised you can get anything working as roxio has known isssues with practically every other type of software known to man. @ Arkion: you are correct in your assumption, heres the mathematical equation that proves your point posted by: cgram7 Newbie 29. Expressed in binary notation (as is typical with CD-R, CD-RW and most operating systems) the same disc has a capacity of roughly 4.38 GB [4:700,000,000 bytes ÷ 1024 = 4,589,844 KB ÷ 1024 = 4,482.27 MB ÷ 1024 = 4.38 GB] . @ Greatnate: have you considered the possibility that you wont be able to get this to a single layered disc but will need a D/L DISC.
Thats for the info and help.......however it is madding that i've spent 50.00 on bulk disc that i can use and guess ill have to go another way ....... by the way what is D/L disc and how much is it............thnks again
You might try downloading DVD Shrink from the software section of this site, follow the instructions or use the exellent guides found in the guide section on this site. Open your file in Shrink and see if that works for you.
