I have downloaded some movies and tv shows and I would like to burn them to a DVD to play in a regular stand alone player on my tv. Is there a certain file format that it needs to be in to burn and play on my dvd player? I tried to burn the one file and it said that some files were not burnable or recognizable for burning or something. Also if there is one specific file exstension is there some type of converting software that i change all my movies over with..Also(sorry its a long question) once I have the right file format do I just add it to the video folder (like in nero) and click burn? THANKS A LOT GUYS!!!!!
There are only a few file formats that most DVD players will read. MPEG-2 is the standard DVD compliant format that all DVD players will read. Depending on the players certifications, it may or may not play VCD, SVCD, Divx, Xvid, and .AVI formats. Your players documentation will let you know whether or not yours will read these formats. What format are your files in now? We really need to know that to help you further.
i have some in mpeg4,x-vid and avi.I'm pretty sure my player will play the m-peg. Do i need to convert them? Also some of these files wont play on the windows media player and other players or will just play sound or will be super chopy but they all play fine on the VLC media player. Is my windows player out of date or is it the files themselves? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!
You are in the the nero discussion forum so can I assume you have nero? How about nero vision? That program will convert and make a menu for you. The finished dvd will play in your player.
