i purchased a hp dvd840e super multi dvd writer with lightscribe and double layer. It came with Nero OEM Suite software. I bought hp dvd discs for light scribe. Using Nero I was able to load clips from my camera. I went through the entire process and got all the way to burn dvd and got an error part way through. Here is the error I got... "Sorry, your compilation cannot be written on this kind of disc. Please insert a disc of the correct type or modify the settings of your compilation to make them compatible with the current disc." Any ideas on what I need to do?

    Hi packrats
    Welcome to aD
I thinking you probably got Nero 6 w/ your drive. Check the version # - if it's 6 and you're not running this version -6.6.0.18 - update to it.
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2 (recode & vision)
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

HP discs are not the best - better to use would be Verbatim, made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

Here's a firmware update for your drive too if it's not update to date:

Hopefully the oem disc came with a fully functionally Vision - they don't always and may be a part of the problem. Sometimes will just allow cd's not DVD's. Does it show the HP dvd840e as a burn option?

Here's a guide for AVI's - but you can use it for other file formats too:

Try the updates and let's see how that goes.
