I have been having trouble with burning movies using my DVD shrink. I can get as far as encoding then when it asks for a disc to start burning it comes up with a new box and saying error. (the last one it came up with was burn process failed at 8x(11,080Kb/s). I can not change the speed rate through shrink. I have never had trouble up until I updated to the latest version of Nero 6. Now I can't use DVD shrink and cannot convert movies on nerovision express 3. Have you got any ideas? I have used a clean tool and ccleaner and uninstalled nero and reinstalled nero 6.6.0.18. But still no luck. Help! Here is the log of what came up when it failed. Hi kachow You can change the burn speed in Shrink once you click 'back up!'. Click on the burn settings tab - if you are reading and writing from the same drive you may not have alot of opinions - if you don't have 4x then try 2.4x. WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=?.?.?.?, Check the apsi tab in Nero - see if anything shows as corrupted. Go to NeroToolKit>Info Tool>aspi tab. Check system and nero. Physical memory : 223MB Free physical memory: 81MB Memory in use : 63 % 512mb would be better. Add more if you can. Keep as much free as possible - no multi tasking. Disc Manufacturer: UME01 Not the best. Switch to some better media like Verbatim or made in Japan Fuji, Sony or Maxell. Give those a go and let us know.
Just letting you know that I changed the speed on DVD shrink and it copied a disc. So am pleased with that. Now all I need to do is try and get Nero Vision Express to convert DVDs and it will be all good.
Ok does Vision fail during the transcoding or the burning phase? Files playback ok on the pc? You can post your failed Vision log and we can go from there.
I downloaded it and it only has burn CD not DVD. I have contacted Nero about this but all they said to do was uninstall and use clean tool then reinstall it but it still doesn't bring burn DVD option up. So don't know what has happened there.
You could try to re install ASPI from here http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm As binkie7 has mentioned, these discs arent brilliant...your burner doesnt recognize them, I recommend Verbatim or Sony (made in japan)
I did download those aspi files but still nothing. When I open nero vision express 3 on the main page it says "what do you like to do? Make CD, Make slide show, capture video to hard drive and open saved project or disc image" It does not have Make DVD. So I can't even start the conversion or put discs into burn that way. Maybe I shouldn't worry about it, I mean even Nero doesn't even know what is happening.
Did you download package 2 of Nero 6.6.0.18 Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe
Yes I did, I even uninstalled it again using clean tool and then reinstalled it but still the same thing is happening. But oh well these things happen and I can't think of anything else to fix it.
kachow , run a Registry cleaner (CCleaner) after you uninstall and run your clean tool then reboot and reinstall also make sure you have up to date firmware on your drive/burner also
When I first downloaded NV3 it did say make DVD but when I pushed the burn button on the buffer it said 5 seconds remaining but would not change. The other time remaining would keep going up but the percentage would not move. When I tried to reinstall it it just wouldn't show up. Got an e-mail from nero I have pasted it to this, I don't really understand it, maybe someone here will. Dear valued customer, Thank you for your e-mail. This can be caused by the following: 1) Old IDE Controller Drivers - This is the most common cause of this error message. You must have the latest drivers for your IDE controller card to prevent this error message. (Same applies to SCSI Cards) Go to the website of the manufacturer of your Controller card and obtain the latest drivers. Such as Intel, VIA, SIS, etc. 2) DMA Settings - You may have DMA disabled for your CDROM/DVDROM and Recorder devices. You should enable this feature. If you have old drivers, and even if you have the latest in some cases, DMA may not be properly supported even though you can enable it. So you should try with DMA disabled if having it Enabled still causes problems. Enable or Disable DMA: To enable DMA in Windows 2000/XP, simply go to your 'Control Panel', and go to 'Systems>Hardware>Device Manager'. Double click on the 'IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers'. Right click on the 'Primary IDE Channel' and go to 'Properties>Advanced Settings' and change Transfer Mode to 'DMA if available'. Do the same for the Secondary IDE Channel For Windows 9x and ME, go to your 'Control Panel->System->Device Manager->CDROM' and under the devices 'Properties->Settings' enable or disable DMA here. 3) Driver Conflicts - You may have or had other CD Recording software installed on your system, and their drivers can cause conflicts with our software when trying to communicate to the Recorder. Please remove any other Recording progrrams you may have on your system, and be sure all their drivers are removed as well. 4) Poor IDE cables - In many cases, with the Recorders supporting UDMA, you must use 80pin IDE cables. Using the 40pin IDE cables work with the Recorder, but when it comes to the actual recording process, there can be problems. Or you may just have an IDE cable that is in poor condition and you need to replace it, or try a different connector on that IDE Cable as the connector could be the cause. 5) CSEL - If your devices are jumpered with CSEL, your controller could be having trouble with this setting. It's best to change it so that you have your devices jumpered as Master or Slave. Refer to the Manual on your CDROM, DVDROM and Recorder devices for how to do this. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again. Best regards, Justin Koch Nero Support
As I mentioned most OEM versions of Nero do not allow any vid work (except for VCDs). It appears that the serial you are using is keyed to an OEM version not the complete Suite. Nero OEM Suite does not include the DVD Plug-In, which means that Showtime supports viewing of VCD video but not SVCD or DVD video. Likewise, Nero Vision Express supports burning of VCD but not SVCD or DVD Video. Hence the DVD button is not available. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/FAQs_Nero6.html#1
