when i convert an avi file into a mpeg file it becomes a larger file, over 700mb. a cdr will only hold 700mb, how do get it onto 2 discs using vcd easy?

actually it depends on the minutes for vcd/svcd. for example an 80 minute cd will hold 800mb!

I too am trying to backup files on my computer. I have a couple of avi files that I am trying to burn to CDR using Nero in data cd format. The files I am trying to backup are like 1MB too large for the disk. Is there a way I can edit the avi file and make it 2 separate disks or just cut off a couple of seconds of the movie (like previews) to make the file fit on one CDR? I am quite new at this and would appreciate any input.
    Thx in advance!

1mb too big?? Sure geez you could overburn that! Click file - preferences. Click the expert features tab and enable overburn. Set the max for overburn to 99mins or whatever. Then apply it all and back to the compilation! Now when you try and write the cd nero will ask if you would like to overburn the cd so do!
