Ok, I am new to this and encountering a lot of trouble I am using Nero 6 and whenever I try to burn an mpeg to a DVD-R I get an error message, something to the effect of: Burn process failed, incompatable disc, blah blah. Then other times it will work, but my DVD player wont play it. The DVD player comes up with a message: Error-playback might not be available, eject disc. Finally, can I even burn a DVD-R disc in my DVD+RW player? The ones that have been successful burning play on the computer, but not in my normal DVD player, so is it the process I am going through that is messed up? I used TMPGEnc DVD author, but I dont know how much good that did.
your mpeg file has to be a complient 1 for your DVD home player to play. Do you have Nero vision express? If so start it and choose to make DVD-Video and then import the mpeg file and follow the directions vision express has you do then it should output a compliant DVD for you to burn and play on your DVD home player. As to your burrner being able to burn DVD-R if your burrner suports DVD- and + formats then it should bebale to burn on DVD-R media.
Ok, the burning went well, but it still didnt play in my DVD player, I got the message: ERROR: playback might not be capable on this disk, eject disk
Are you sure your DVD player plays DVD-R DVD+R media? Do you have a diffrent DVD player in your house to try it on? Are you burrning at 4x or less and burrning with good media? Are you using DVD+R media? If so try changing the booktype to DVD-ROM
Yes I'm sure, it plays fine on my computer Yes, but will that help? I am burning at 8x I believe I am definately using DVD-R Could it be that my DVD player just doesnt play DVD-R's? I went to its website and it said it did...
You shouldnt burn any faster then 4x also it could be the media maybe your DVD home player dosent like it. Other then that I dont know what else to tell you to do. All I can tell you is try to find another DVD home player to try it in. If that player plays it then it is your home player. It will play on your DVD-ROm drive in your computer cause the compatiblity is better. Try a diffrent DVD Home Player.
