Hi there! I don't know if I am really losing it, but I have no clue how to burn music to a DVD so it can play in my DVD player on my work pc. I burn movies regularily, so I am familiar with various software, but for some reason am having a mind freeze re: music to DVD. Any assistance would be really appreciated! Thanks!!!!
Most DVD players that play MP3 files will let you play MP3 CD-R disc but will not work if burned to DVD. So if your specs on your DVD says it will play MP3 files check and see if that includes MP3 burned on DVD. As far as I have seen not very many DVD systems out there will suport playing MP3 files on DVD media. I have 3 DVD players and non of them suport MP3 music files on DVD. I can only use CD-R disc.
All but one of my DVD players support MP3 DVD's, and also my PC will play them. You can do it with Nero,if you have it, here is a guide I did on this. You can get a lot of music on a DVD. http://my.afterdawn.com/arniebear/blog_entry.cfm/542
Hi there, What does Nero do different, creating an .MP3 DVD rather than just a Data DVD with MP3 on it ? Probably adds an Autostart with a little player ? Curious
I too wonder what the difference is other than if I burn it as data it will not play but if I burn it as an MP3 CD/DVD it will. Now you got me curious
I never did try to burn an MP3 DVD disc. I always burn MP3 as a data disc and it would never work in my DVD player. I could burn a dtata disc on a CD-R and it worked. I did some reading a while back ago and read one of the reason it has problems with reading MP3 on a DVD is because most DVD players have a default setting for the amount of files it can load (list in the menu). If you go over that amount then it will say it is an incorrect disc.
Try burning as an MP3 disk and not data, it will play. All my standalones, but an older Toshiba play them fine. The music menu just comes on screen and you can scroll through and choose your songs. It is great if you got Home Theater. Possibly, because on the DVDMP3 disk their is a root menu and the files are listed as tracks, whereas the data disk would not have this, I believe.
Thanks so much for all the advice...I thought I was just not thinking clearly and that was why I could figure out how to do it. I am still a bit confused, but when I get home (I am at work, naughty me), I will read over the instructions page (thanks arnie!). I really appreciate all the help!!!
Good luck. Here is some pics of DVDMP3 disk, I do this periodically to back up my music with Nero. Insert disk Then choose drive in WMP if that is what you use. I have the disk in Lite-on DVD-Rom drive. And all your tracks will come up and play away.
Yeah, you can get like five times the amount of music on a DVDMP3 as you can on a CDMP3 disk. The only problem I have with MP3 in Nero is you cannot arrange the music in an order that you want like you can on a CD. Nero just automatically arranges it alphabetically. The only way to get it in the order you want is to number the tracks, who wants to do that for hundreds of songs. There are other programs that will do this, but since I have Nero and it works I don't feel like putting out any more money on programs.
