Burning mutiple assorted songs to one CD-R

I copy my CD's using ImgBurn and it works great for a straight one to one copy.

The question is how can I burn mutiple songs from many different CD's to make a "favorites" CD?

I have most of my music in my computer and I have burned selected songs to a CD-R using Window Media Player, but when I took the CD to play in my car it would not play. I'm sure the problem is that the songs are in MP3 format and will not play in a regualar CD player.

Can ImgBurn accomplish this process or is there another program that I can use?
