I'm using a Philips DVD8601 that came with my Dell Dimension 8400. I'm burning on Verbatim DVD+RW. I'm trying to use the same disc over and over again. Do I need to erase the previous recordings before I burn again? If so, how do I erase them?

    Thanks

    What programs do you use?

I erase my DVD-RW when im ready to add somthing diffrent to the disc. I use nero to do this...

If you have Nero do the below....

    Click on Start Smart
Now click on the Extra's Icon in start smart
    Now click on erase DVD

You do not have to erase +RW, it will just burn over it.

The reason I erase my DVD-RW's is I add the AVI's as a data DVD.
Which my player is compatible with Xvid/DivX files.

When I put in the DVD-RW Nero treats it like a multi-session DVD and has me add the files to it. Which my player will not read multi-session DVD's. So That is why I have to erase the DVD-RW. Yes I know I could close the session after adding the files but I always forget to close it.

If you have a DVD-RW that is closed then yes it should record over it.
