Update Nero 7 to its finite version. http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nero7-update.php Acquire the latest availabe firmware for your burner. All of these are media-related. I didn't see no record of the burning process ever taking place. What media are you using? You have Roxio installed, an archrival of Nero.

This 'software' is called firmware and can be updated with a firmware flasher. A firmware upgrade can add new functionality to your drive. Also bug fixes and improvements are done by firmware upgrades. It also adds more media codes and write strategies to the drive to improve burning capabilities and disk recognition. Use better media....... Taiyo Yuden is the best (IMHO) or you can find Verbatim in the stores if you don't want to buy online! Stay away from the Verbatim made in India! check labels and make sure! if you are using Nero... sometimes Roxio/Sonic can interfere with Nero burning DVDs. Uninstall Roxio/Sonic.... use Roxio Zapper after the uninstall: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml good luck. ALSO: Consider the AVI file that you are trying to convert to DVD! if Nero is having a hard to reading the file: then there might be a problem with your AVI file!
