I have xp and a Benq 1620 pro burner. The problem is that when i use Shrink and Nero my machine freezes and i have to reboot the machine. Shrink goes ok but when the burning starts it gets to 1% and then the whole machine gets "stuck" and i have to reboot, cd's i can burn but no dvd's.
check for firmware updates to your burner. also what media are you using and at what speed are you burning?
I just updated the firmware to B7U9. Medias I have tried are Maxells -RW and Verbatim +R and Samsung -R. Speed 2.4X and 4X.
ok, so shrink does its part ok, (encode & rip)... the issue is when shrink uses the nero burn engine... what if you try burning the VIDEO_TS folder using nero on its own?
same thing, freezes at 1%. I have put in Nero again, used Neros cleaning tools and then put it in but no help.
download dvd decrypter (above) and use the create and burn iso with dvd decrypter and see if it is an issue with nero or the burner...
mikzu, Do as babelfish suggests but check to see if INCD in loaded in Nero. If it is uninstall ( modify) Nero to remove it. While we are at it check in Device manager to see if there are any conflicts.
Hi there, If you are having issued burning with Nero, try to burn one at 2x, and post us your full nero logs. There's a lot of information in that log that we can look at ! If you PC freeze when using DVDshrink, 1 known problem is heat. It's a very CPU intensive software and maybe your CPU/board is over heating. One thing you can do with DVDShrink, is have it create an .ISO file. Then use Nero and burn that .ISO manually, burn it at 2x and see if it makes any difference !
Solved the problem, or sort of anyway. I had a Hitatchi DVD-rom and the Benq in my machine, I took off the Hitatchi and the Benq started burning, must be some sort of a conflict somewhere. Device manager shows that everything is ok.
I started to have problems burning DVDs with my daughters computer after I swithed her DVD combo cdrw drive with a lite-on 167t I went to the Nero site and found this: "Clean pack (registry checker and driver clean tool) Download cleanpack.zip and extract the zipped files onto your hard disk using WinZip or WinRar. You should now have two files: Driver-CleanTool.exe and RegistryChecker.exe. First, run Driver-CleanTool.exe by double-clicking it. The Driver-CleanTool will deactivate drivers that caused problems in Nero in the past. Confirm the deactivation of the drivers displayed in order to prevent known driver conflicts from reoccurring in the future. These drivers also exist, with values, in the registry in Windows NT, 2000 and XP. In order to ensure that these drivers are also deactivated you will need to run the RegistryChecker file." It did find bad drivers and said that it fixed it. Instead of going with that, I removed Nero, ran the General clean tool they have and then re-installed the latest version. After the fresh install I ran the driver clean tool for kicks. It found nothing wrong. I ran 4 tests 2 tests using Shrink and Nero. 2 tests using Nero copy disc (DAO, disc to disc) All 4 burns went great and discs play great on standalone players. Test disc used were RICOHJPNR01 (Ritek Ridata 4x+R burned at 8x) CMC MAG F01 (Khypermedia 4x+R burned at 8x) Burner is a NEC 2500a with modified DL firmware I have Nero 6 OEM latest version 6.6.0.13 I only download and use Neros package 1 updates
i can burn good copy with shrink but when i play it back on dvd player on tv it has some pixle sppots do i need to clean it it plays good on puter no problem help please
mikzu, Did you install the benq 1620 yourself and did you check the jumper setting on the back? It's recommended you make the dvdrw master and the dvd-rom or cd-rom slave if both are on same IDE channel. runtwo, Your problem sounds like poor quality media or compatability problem with your set-top dvd player. What brand and media code are your discs? Dvd+r or dvd-r? Here's a link to a free proggy to check media code. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ Mort
