GoNuts461, That is weird. I would think as well that a Sony burner would work well with its OWN media, but who knows. Im just starting to learn all this actually. But I actually got my problem resolved. What I do is I use DVDshrink, and annalys the movie in FULL, then after it reads the cd, I go to Re-author and copy and paste only the MAIN MOVIE and then I compress it by unchecking the foreign titles, like french, spanish, etc which boosts the quality of the movie tremendously, then I back it up. After it saves the final result to the hard drive, I use Nero Burning Rom 6.0, choosing DVD video and using any kind of media burning back to the DVD-R at only 2x. Any faster and I get choppy and freeze results when playing back the copy. Not sure if this is normal, but its been the only way Ive been able to get good and excellent results. Sometimes after it burns and finishes, the DVD copy will play in my Apex burner, sometimes it wont and will only play in my Panasonic portable DVD player, but it doesnt really bother me either way, long as it plays in some of the dvd players me and my relatives have. Im back using Fugifilm which is bizaar because I was having the MOST problems with Fujifilm media but now it appears the Fujifilm data cds are not functioning correctly now that I changed up how I burn my media and it now plays fine. Krisp picture and VERY loud audio. Im very impressed with Maddog burners. I HIGHLY recommend anyone getting a burner soon to invest in the Maddog Dominator 6 in 1. Its an excellent burner.
Well i am using DVD Shrink, and also WinAVI to get the main movie; Last night i was able to get a 1.5gb DVD (Compressed) Movie onto the +RW and have it work. *Light Goes On* I can fit another movie onto that DVD. Well it didnt work the way i wanted it to, both the file names are VTS (Video Title Screen) so i assume thats y it's not working. I am now trying a Data Burn of the .VOB files...i'll let ya know if it works. If i can get 2 or 3 movies onto an RW, i might go invest in a 25pk, i've got 220 DivX movies i need to convert ;-) (My 60+ DVD collection got stolen while i was attending a college forum thing so i dont feel bad about pirating anymore) I hope my +Rs come in soon, i want to try them out. -Matt
Yah, +R's are the way to go, really. From what Im learning and hearing, they seem to be the key now a days as most dvd players will read now, most +R's, rather than -R discs. But in regards to WinAVI, Ive heard of the program but not experienced enough to really give you some help there. Im still considered a newbies at all this burning technique and have been rather comfortable with using DVDShrink and just Nero Burning Rom. I suppose as time goes by and I become more experienced at all this, Ill explore into other applications and compare them how and which one works the best for the Maddog Dominator burners, but for now, Im sticking to Shrink lol
