Hey people, I got a problem with burning in Shrink 3.2 I'm trying to backup the movie "Control" on DVD. I used DVD Decrypter to save an ISO image and then opened the image in DVD Shrink. I left it on Automatic Compress to fit it to one 4.7GB disc and burned it in Nero after Deep Analysis when I clicked Back-Up. Then the following popped up in the log: I also used DVD 43 to pass protection. Whats wrong??
first off remove your nero key off your post starts with 1A23 your nero needs to be updated 6.6.0.16 is newest Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2285977 (507:59.52, 4464MB) in shrink set your target size under 4400 your burning to close to the edge Recorder: <PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109> Version: 1.01 - HA 3 TA 0 - 6.6.0.3 your firmware is out of date 1.57 is newest get it here http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/p...ticle/0,,2076_4249_201803982,00.html#Firmware Burn process started at 8x (11,080 KB/s) Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s) slow it down try 4x WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.57 here is newer aspi http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...SPI-4.70&sess=no&prodkey=Windows+ASPI+Package try different brand of media like verbatim, taiyo yuden peace
@boltoto - cool, Bigfatboy has sifted thru your logfile. - yup, Nero is a tad out of date to correctly recognise your burner i've requested the thread be teleported to Nero forum..
no, i didn't download the firmware and i didn't update nero. all i did was set the limit to 4400 and the start speed at 4X and BANG! i burned the dvd.
just keep this post info in mind, as if you buy different media, you will need to update the firmware as that's what teaches your drive about media/newer media/burn speeds. and pencil in updating Nero too as your drive is only being recognised generically
I downloaded the firmware update but when I install it says: "Availbale Target is Not Found!" What am I doing wrong?
@boltoto - you need to extract 2 files from the firmware exe file you downloaded - Extract the 2 files and delete the Pioneer upgrade exe file. You will be left with 2 files. Download DVRupdate 0.9 from http://www.dvd-recordable.org/wwwim...date v0.9.zip Extract DVRupdate 0.9.exe to the same folder as the 2 files above. Run DVRupdate 0.9 and do the following: 1) Select your drive from the 'Device' drop down box 2) Select the Kernel file by clicking the folder icon to the right of the 'Kernel' field. The correct file will automatically be selected if you have run DVRupdate from the same folder as the 2 files. 3) Select the Normal file by clicking the folder icon to the right of the 'Normal' field. The correct file will automatically be selected if you have run DVRupdate from the same folder as the 2 files. 4) Click 'Start' The operation takes about a minute. Exit DVRupdate. Reboot.
thanks for that creaky, mate! I heard that things can go really wrong when updating firmware. And since I don't know much about this I'm really not keen on updating. I'll try and let you know.
no worries, you're welcome. it can go horrible. 3 main rules are - use correct firmware for the drive do not reset pc during update of firmware do not power off pc during update of firmware (acts of God ie powercut notwithstanding)
