Using XP on a 80GB HP machine I am using Sonic MyDVD 2.5 to burn 3.7GB of images to a non-formatted (to my knowledge) DVD+R disk. It goes thru a lengthy Build Image period and then starts writing files. Seems to burn about 33% of the data, then ejects the disk and gives me an error message, "could not complete the last command-file not valid MPEG (DVDErr,-20402) Looking at the disk it would appear about 30% of it is burned but when I put it in a DVD player it says, No Disc. Appreciate any help
I use lots of different programs to assemble slideshows, camcorder stuff, DVD compilations, etc. The one thing I never do is use the compilation program (in your case SonicMyDVD) to burn with. I always set the target in these programs to my hard disc and then use Nero to burn the folder. Nero keeps their programs up to date with new versions almost monthly. Nero provides control over the process as well as checking for DVD compliancy before burning. Sometimes I will open the folder in DVD Shrink just to see if that will work. Shrink is pretty good at rejecting non-compliant files. In your case you may have a problem with the video files you are trying to write. BTW here is Sony's solution for your error message: http://sony.storagesupport.com/cgi-bin/sonysupport.cgi/dwRDYsLIoDb26HDCYujP3F3d1jZqe9=s/faq/view/603 Good luck, Frank
Hi Tonyfish, That stuff on the website made me wonder just what kind of a project you are working on. I have Sonic on a disc somewhere but I really don't need it for most of the odd stuff I like to do. It came with a burner I bought a while ago. Let me know how things go for you, maybe I can help. Cheers, Frank
Frank Thanks again. Your original thought of using a different software than the multiplier (Sonic MyDVD) worked. I used Record Now and altho it still had a comment about file problems when it went thru the Verification stage I still was able to record a DVD disc that worked.
