I'm having a problem with burning a DVD. I have tried a variety of things like reducing quality, reducing burn speed, etc. Nothing seems to work...Here is a copy of the log. I started it where there seemed to be a problem.
Hi bgh10788 Welcome to aD! Here's some suggestions for you. First let's edit out your serial #s here in the log [12:09:30] NeroVision 1C800 Update your Nero try this version - 7.0.8.2. http://filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 Just one behind on your firmware - the latest one is 1.58 http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2017 Turn DMA back on for this drive. Here's a guide if needed: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038 512 mb is better - adding some ram would be good but in the been time no multi tasking and shut down any unnecessary processes. Not the best by far. Switch to some better media like Verbatim or made in Japan Fuji, Sony or Maxell. You said you tried different burn speeds - for these I would go no higher than 4x. Try those and keep us posted!
OK. Did what you said. I updated my program but now there is a bigger problem. The video files cannot be read. In addition, when I try to burn the project again, I get an error immediately and Nero crashes so I cannot save the log file. I reloaded my project so here are two screenshots of the nero windows w/ the screwed up project. These screenshots were taken with the most recent version 7.2.0.3. I also tried the one you reccomended (7.0.8.2) and recieved the same problem. I know the files are fine b/c I can open and play them with anything but Nero. I know for a fact they use the DivX codecs b/c in windows media player, the little icon for DivX pops up by the clock. Is there a special add-on I need for DivX files now??? I have already updated my codecs to the latest version.
@bgh10788 Ok - so the video files that the newer versions of Nero 7 can't read - you were able to read them in the 7.0.1.4 version? Do you remember the error message before Nero crashed? You can look here you a log: program files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.txt. You may need to go back down to the earlier version. But if you can find the log let's take a look at that.
