I burned movies to a 8x cdr and when I played it back in the computer it played choppy and loaded slow, now I went and burned on a 24x and it played fine. Is there a relation to the speed of the cdr to the reader it is in ??

    Hi,

Did your burning software report that the 8X CDs were actually burned at 8X or was it faster? If you leave the default write speed to "max" the drive and software will oftentimes burn the disc faster than it's rated speed which can sometimes result in a poor burn. I'd suggest setting the software to burn at 8X and see what happens.

It could be that your 24X media is more tolerant of being burned faster than it's rating :)
