I made a copy of Tom & Jerry's Greatest Chases with Decryptor & it worked fine on a MIJ Sony DVD-R disc. The show is 2 hours long & goes to the edge of the disc on the copy. Made it for a 5 year old (until I could get one through Amazon) daughter of a friend of mine as I would never lend out original discs to anyone. Well the disc I bought for her came & I swapped it for the burned copy I had made. She had already watched the copy (in 4 sittings I was told) all the way through before I gave the unopened original to the family. Cleaned the copy (it was somewhat scratched & full of fingerprints) & it played perfect! No skips, freezes or pixxilation problems in the 2 sittings I took to watch the burned disc. My original (in like new condition) disc was ripped to an ISO & burned to to the MIJ Sony at 4x. Question. Am I just lucky with good media & a slow burn speed or what? Never burned a disc that close to the edge before...
If you are using good quality media - burning to maximan capacity (4464Mb) is not a major problem. I've burnt many at this size without problems but just to be on the safe side I have reduced the Custom Ratio to 4400. Again no problems. Use good quality media, burn at a reasonable speed and do not use labels on your burnt media.
Who is the manufacture of the disks? If they are MIJ as you say, they could be Taiyo Yudens which is one of the best if not the best. Rich
I have a question...They make a Tom & Jerry DVD??? How come I wasn't notified of this? I love Tom & Jerry!!! I think it's funny because my kids watch it on Boomerang...I think they know I like it more than they do!
They make several Tom & Jerry DVD's. Look for them at the amazon.com web site. Oh & media code. Says it's Sony 08D1. Same ID as the MIT Sony's but this one said Made in Japan on the wrapper.
