Hey everyone. Had a quick question. I just had the Motherboard on my computer give up. Not sure what part of it quit but since I replaced it, everything seams fine. What caused the problem is unkown. But could it be that I have been overworking my computer making backups of my DVD's? I have an extensive collection and begain backing up about 10-12 a week. Might sound stupid but I'm just trying to think what could have caused the problem. Thanks.
if your mb went out, it's probably hardware related. But it's impossible to be sure what exactly it was going on what you gave us for info.
Yeah hard to say. It would be a good idea to replace your power supply also as under/over voltage can cause a problem. P/S's are cheap anyway and good insurance against future mobo problem. Mort
Hardware failure is often related to either excessive voltage fluctuations (meaning, make sure you have a good power supply) or heat issues (meaning, make sure that you have adequate airflow through your case and that heat sinks are mounted properly with good thermal paste!)
can you give a more detailed description of your activities when you burn. o/s programs computer stats anything else you think we might need to know so that we can speculate a little better on your behalf
