Is it possible, if you have more than one DVD burner, to burn different files to DVD burners (two or more movies at once)? I used Nero all along to burn one at a time, but just got Alcohol 120 cuz heard you can burn to more than one burner at a time...Is that only multiple copies of same file, which is handy at times, but not really what I am looking for. Or can you open more than one instance of the program and burn a different file to another drive? Any feedback appreciated.
Hi As far as i know you can burn 2 copies of the same file at the same time but its not a very good idea, you may also need 2 drives the same with the same firmware to make life easier.Having 2 instances of the same burning programme running will cause all sorts of conflicts. And 2 different progs running eg nero and alcohol will be a disaster. Im sure someone will correct me if i am wrong
i've only heard of burning the same data to 2 or more burners simultaneously (in Nero Burning Rom). i use this feature heavily for 2 burners, and the burners/firmware don't need to be the same. One of my burners is an internal drive, the other is in a USB2.0 enclosure and i can do 8x dvd-video burns perfectly. Other regulars here do even 3 burners at once. However the only way i'd have thought you could do different data to different burners is to open multiple instances of burn program (Nero for instance) and i guess this'd work but only if CPU/PC was up to the job
I have a P4 3.0 Ghz, with 2 Gigs ram. Considered going to a dual core, but that would involve new m/b as well as the cpu...so backed off on that for now. I was not aware that Nero could burn to more than one burner simultaneous. But yes, since I loaded up Alcohol 120, I was thinking about putting a few more burners into my tower and having separate instances of the program burning different files to the dif burners...although might hedge up my ram to the full 4Gb my mb can handle, just to make things go smoother. Just wondering if its possible to do...if anyone else has tried it, etc.
Anything over 2GB of RAM is a waste of money. You won't see much of a benefit for the expenditure of money. If you are really thinking about adding a few burners to your tower, you better think about getting a 600+ watt PSU, too.
Now that you mention it Grandpa...I am not all that impressed lately with the speed/response time of my system. Ran spam progs and comes back clean, but wife's machine with 1 Gig of ram doesn't lag like mine...
