I have few VOB files and want to burn these on to one DVD. Do I need all the files (bup, ifo) or I can just copy the VOB files to make a data DVD, and use a autorun graphic menu where I can just manually select and run video?
you will need to make the rest of the files so you can play vob on a dvd player you need to use infoedit and here the guide to use it http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm#ifoedit
Thanks for tipps. I need this DVD mostly for playing on PC. Will the VOB processing/joining with VOBEdit and IFOEdit somehow affect the clip quality(video & audio)? Does that affect the encoding somehow? The VOBs comes ripped from various sources.
they need to be the same if you play them together if you want to play different video format and audio then you need to make more then one vts for each vob use dvd-lads pro for that
it doesn't make menus just makes it able to play vobs on dvd players you need to use another program to make the menu use dvd menu studio
it will play them all without stopping just need to rename them in the order you want to play the videos in before joining them vts_01_1.vob vts_01_2.vob
But this is trimming and splitting tool which cuts video files into fragments. Whereas I need create DVD from separate VOB files.(i.e. join it into one DVD)
If you have the IFOs that go with each VOB, use DVD Shrink in the re-author mode to put all of your videos on one DVD.
you meant same method, already described above? http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm#ifoedit
Your videos should be in seperate folders. Create new IFOs with IfoEdit and then compile them with DVD Shrink using the re-author mode.
so I need put each video into separate folders named: vts_01_1, vts_01_2, ..? For creating IFOs should I just follow aboved guide? http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm#ifoedit
Why do not you join the files using the guide. It will make DVD. If you want one with menu, you need DVD authoring software to do that. There you can import your joined files and make some simple menu with buttons. Shrink will not do it either. One thing. When joining make sure that all individual clips have same aspect ratio, frame size and audio format.
