    Hi there,

My problem with Nero is this: I downloaded some tv shows onto my hard drive. I burned them onto a DVD+R, no troubles. But everytime I try to burn this other tv show to a DVD+R with Nero, it goes through all the motions, even seems to burn it. But then my stand alone dvd player wont play the thing. It just starts loading.....then it stops. It WILL play on my DVD burner (a liteon) but at reduced quality for a file that is near two gigs on the disc. Weird.

The files I am trying to view are .avi in format. Is that the problem? Or is it something to do with my actual DVD player?

Think I have it sussed! My DVD player will only play mp3 and mpeg files....think thats whats wrong. Now off I go to find a program to converts the damn thing.

Yes, those .avi files need to be converted to a DVD compliant format in order to play the movie in your player.

There are two ways I will mention to do this:
    1) You can use nero vision to perform the conversion
    2) You can use avi2dvd to perform the conversion

Using nero vision, follow the guide done by alkohol
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946

Using avi2dvd, you can get it here anolg with a guide
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/avi_to_dvd_avi2dvd.cfm

    good luck.
