My mom just recently received a computer from a coworker for their company. Until now she has had no reason to use the CD burner. Her computer has Nero 6 installed on it and she asked for my help to use it. I have done everything i can and now i am looking for some outside advice. My mom is trying to copy an .exe file on to a CD-R. Her burner is a 16x 18x 40x Yamaha Compact disc rewritable drive. And not only does Nero tell her there is no disc in the drive so does windows media player and cd writing wizard. it also says in the properties that the disc is full but they are brand new out of the package never before used discs. So if anyone has any suggestions on what we might be able to do please give us a buzz back and we'd love to hear any suggestions you may have. Kelly

Hi, An ASPI update/install may help since ASPI is the interface layer between your software and your drives. Here's a link to the download and instructions for ForceASPI 1.8: http://club.cdfreaks.com/lite/t-101614.html If the install is correct all four entries should read ver. 4.71.2 when you run ASPICHK
Well, your not very clear on some issues. Being a computer she just recieved, you have an old model Yamaha Recorder. As Yamaha has not been making recorders for some time now. Does the drive even work? If you put a data CD or audio CD in the recorder, can you read from the CD or play the audio CD? And you fail to mention any steps you took to create a data CD, or write the EXE file to CD. What steps did you take? What error messages did you get if any? Did you even open Nero? This forum has many helpful tips on how to use Nero and other programs. You can also go to the Nero website for step by step directions for creating data CD's, Audio CDs, etc. You can use the below link for this. http://www.nero.com/us/631945920304279.html Regards, Craig
