VCD means Video CD. It should be burned to a CD unless converted to DVD format.

Most players will play a VCD.

If you put a VCD file on a DVD disc, it will not work as you have found out.

What exactly are you burning? Where did you get the files from? Is it a copy of a DVD? What format are your videos?
I assume you did not make a data DVD. If you made a Video DVD, then your files must be DVD compliant. They can't be VCD format, as it would not even allow you to burn the copilation on a DVD media and make a DVD video.

What kind of media did you use(+/- format)? Maybe your player is not compatible with it. Some don't like DVD+R, some don't like DVD-R. What brand player do you have? What software did you use to burn the DVD, at what speed? Some players are really picky and if you burn too fast, will spit your disc out.

I used a DVD+R disc and I got that error and I tryed a cdr and it didn't work. Am I using the wrong type of discs or am I just not converting it to something i need to. Im going to download Nero Vision and convert it to a dvd file and see if that works, if I helped you solve my problem please reply back

is it on single file, or a few? If it is one file,( for example movie.avi), you have to convert it before you burn it to a DVD. if it is a bunch of Vob and IFO files, then they are already on DVD format...Since you say you put it on a CD, it makes me think it is an AVI file( a full DVD movie would not fit on a CD), or it is a VCD file. In this case you have to convert it to DVD format to burn it on a dvd. You could burn a Data DVD and use it in your player only if your player would support avi/DivX format.
