Hi I've been reading alot of information about my problem but cant seem to find an answer, so I gotta ask.

    Im using Memorex DVD+R DL

I've been trying to burn DL dvds but everytime they get to the middle they just freeze and I need to exit the program. Im pretty sure that its something to do with the second layer because when I burn something just using the first layer it comes out fine.

I've used dvdshrink, nero, imgburn and convertxtodvd, I burnt 4x, 2.4x and 2x and got the same result everytime, I already made like 15 coasters. Its only when it has to use the second layer that it doesnt work. I even used dvdshrink and took out the layer break and it still does the same thing..

I also read about other people with the same problem using Verbatim, so I don't think its my media, I have no idea what to do I've been trying for days..

Here is a log if this helps..

Have you checked to see if there are any firmware updates for your
    DVD recorder ?

Try Verbatim. You aren't going to know if your media is the problem until you try a different brand.

Personally, I wouldn't us Memorex media.

For DL burning use either Verbatim or Ritek blank media.

Imgburn is highly recommended by most for DL burning.
