Everytime I have burnt a DVD it has a slight jumping every couple of seconds. When I say jumping I mean it stops for like a few milli seconds. It used to be pretty unnoticable but I recently upgrade to a new DVD burner and it has become worse. I burn using Vertabim 16x DVD-R media and convert using DVD Santa or VSO DivXtoDVD. I recently bought the media from a shop where they were on offer. When I got them home I noticed that compared to the other DVD's I had burned the Disc was slightly different, the writing was different. Could these DVD's been fakes? Please can someone help?
There's two things yer gotta rely on in life, one is...........No matter how bad someones cut your hair???..yer dog ain't gonna bite yer. The other is always use good media.
hi Jase_ace :Can you download dvd identifier, run your discs through and post the results. When you burn a disc what speed do you burn at.If its 16x thats to much and if your discs are crap this is where you will see errors like skips.Recommended speed is 4x and also set the size to about 4300megs.If you set it to the maximum 4.38 gig you will also get freezes etc as this is where the dye is uneven on the out side edge of the disc see how you go at burning at the slower speed and post back if this doesnt work or help andmerr

Just out of curiosity. Is there any reason why DVDSanta's output ends up about 4GB and avi2dvd ends up about 2GB?
depends on the file and what type it is,If you still have your original file, run it through avicodec and post the results. If you type the word into google it will take you to a site where you can download it for free.
