I heard that when burning a xbox game there is a file at the begining, and the burner reckonises it as an error and dose not burn it. So when you put the game in the xbox and the file is not there it wont boot up. I also heard that what a mod chip dose is puts this code in so the game works. I have a couple of questions. 1. Has anyone tried to find a way to burn this file on to the disc so a mod chip isnt needed? 2. If all the mod chip dose is puts the code in when a game has to be booted, then can the mod chip be turned off after the games has booted up so you can play xbox live with a overseas game? thanx
You got the basic concept down for what the mod chip does fluxx5193... To answer your questions... 1) Many have tried to do this, but failed. You need a modded box to play backup games...period... 2) Once your mod chip is on and your game is runnin, there is no way of turning it off.
There's no way to play burnt games without some kind of modification done on your Xbox. There's an alternative to modchips, look up softmod. I'm not too familiar with it so I can't tell you much, but it should save you some money though.
not true the xbox cd's are called xiso's or 10 iso format if you do a data dump of the entire xbox cd then you can copy the security and everything else to another disk but it won't work anyways because the xbox cd's are 5.0 gigs and a dvd r is only 4.7 gigs
Yes Xbox format is xISO, I know that. And no not all Xbox games are 5GB, there's only a handful of games that are too big to fit on a DVD-R disc. I have encountered maybe 20 games or so (maybe less), the rest you can fit them nicely on regular 4.7GB DVD-R with no problems, some can even fit on CD-R. You make it sound so easy I wonder why nobody else has thought of it yet. I'm also interested about this data dumping you're talking about. I assume your Xbox has no kind of modification done to it and I know for sure no PC drives can read Xbox games if you stick one in. So how would you do it?
Yeah johnodd4, care to explain yourself? If it was that easy to do, like you say, then you are one smart man, seeing that nobody has ever figured out how to do this....
