have been offered a star view 4 usb, 200 euro? Is this the goin rate? Had bought a SV1 clone for 100 euro over 2 years ago... i take it that there is no hope for my sv1 being used again or should i bin it? The SV4 is not just a short term fix, i take it they cracked the new encryption?

Don't waste your money Davet82, I got one from the UK last week for about €112, not a clone either. Try mycablebox.co.uk. Delivered in 2 days to Dublin area. There's no gaurantees with how long it will last but even if you get 2 or 3 months out of it it will have paid for itself......by the way the one I got is working like a dream since I got it, you'll need to install the latest firmware to it before you use it but it's straighforward enough, there are plenty of threads here that will guide you through the procedure.

Well if you buy a kryptview, you wont have to do without any channels, and i would say, the chances of the other starviews been fixed, well its just not going to happen at this stage.

try skywonder.co.uk for you kryptview if you looking to buy

You could check what their support is like before you buy though?

Well i only got the SV4 usb last week but can't believe i'm starting to lose channels already - BBC1/2, CH4, UTV, SKY 1/2...all off since yesterday.....I can live with that but don't fancy losing too many more & having to wait 3 mths for a fix.....certainly from reading the threads the Kryptview seems a much more reliable box...oh well..we live & learn.
