I accidentally posted this in another forum, so could a moderator PLEASE delete the other one for me. I put it under home media because I didn't see this one for some reason. THANKS!
I have an Optiarc/Sony/NEC 7071a burner on my computer. It's starting to make some weird noises when burning and now I'm getting coasters. it seems to burn fine until the end when it's closing the DVD out. IT spins for a long time and then makes noises and finishes, only to leave me with a DVD that says it's blank when I know it's not. Soooo... I am looking to purchase a new DVD burner. BACK when i bought this one, i was told it was a very good one. I know I have burned well over 1,000 DVDs with it. Is that about average?
What is another good DVD burner out there or one you would replace yours with if you had to? It does not have to be optical if it's a lot more expensive. IDE is fine.
Thanks for your help. Again, if this is in the wrong place, will you please move it for me and let me know where I should post things like this in the future.

    THANKS!
    xoxo
    Gina

1000 discs is more than I'd burn before I replace the drive. I think it's time.

I have been happy with Sony (ATAPI) and Pioneer (SATA).
