Has anyone bought anything from them? If so please let me know if the service is good or poor. Was shipping prompt? On Time? Hidden charges? Were the products as advertised? They are selling some 16X DVD+R's REALLY cheap and I am going to order some tomorrow with a good recommendation.
I just got 3 6' digital optical audio cables from them, very good price ($8.95 each). You have to wait 2-3 days before items ship, because they're not in a big warehouse, Buy.com receives them, then ships them. Anyway, I've only used them once, but it was a good experience. Hope this helps.
i've purchased quite a few items from Buy.com before, at least in MY limited experience, i got EXACTLY what i ordered within a few days (taking into account that Buy.com is located IN CALIFORNIA and i live IN CALIFORNIA as well, hence the speedy delivery) i purchased some computer hardware from them as well as a few spindles of media when they had a sale...don't remember exactly what kind, but Buy.com is a reputable company that DOES NOT SELL FAKE items from what they advertise~ overall, only had a few transactions with them, but nothing out of the ordinary...sales tax in CA made me think twice about ordering from them, but, the sale prices were good enough to balance it all out... that's my 2 cents...i don't buy from them frequently, so this opinion is based on a VERY limited 3-4 transaction with Buy.com within the last few years~ i have found the prices @ newegg.com to be cheaper, so, i give them my business nowadays...even though, i STILL pay sales tax for newegg.com too~ docTY~
Verbatim 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 100 Pack Cake Box Disc - Retail on NewEgg is $50.99 and then $56.09 with 3-day Shipping Verbatim 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 100 Pack Cake Box Disc - Retail on Buy.com is $39.99 and then $48.17 with 3-5 day shipping So you save about $10 on 100 discs. But I am going to go with 200 for $79.98 and go with Budget Shipping which is 7-9 days but on these discs applies for their free shipping. I guess it isn't much of a deal if you have to have them but if you can wait the extra (possibly a week) time over NewEgg then you can save money.
@slosten well, you can save EVEN more if you can wait to get them locally~ bestbuy/officemax has 16x Verbatims in either format for about $14.99/50 pack when on sale~ double that for 100 pack it's about $30 for 100...if you NEED 200, that's $60...and u don't have to pay for shipping since you get it SAME DAY and walk out the store...you just have to be patient for the sales... saves ya even MORE $$$ when u look at it. docTy~
@ doc... we in california pay taxes to pretty much everybody.. except lacie.. i do buy my hard drives and dvd burners from them for my mac. they are in washington or oregon..
Yeah I know, BestBuy is where I have purchased the past 300 I bought. First time was $14.99/50 (bought 2), second time they had them marked back up but had the 25 packs at like $7.99 so I bought 4 of them, then right after Christmas they had the 50's on sale again and I bought 2 more. I just went back up there on Monday and they had them marker up again. I know that patience is the key to saving money but I didn't feel like waiting for the sale.
patience is a virtue my friend, but i can totally see where you are coming from... patience happens to be MY OWN "bad quality"...lol, i don't have any... i want things NOW, now later...waiting does suck~! docTY~
I managed to pick up a 50 cake box of +R's at sams club for $14.99 as well. They were on sale. Not sure if it is still going on or not, they usually run a week.
@Doc Are you one of those people that find instant gratification not to be soon enough?! You are not alone!
Jesus that was fast as shit and way before schedule. I placed the order on Tuesday (the 10th) and went ahead with the 7-9 day shipping (the free option) since I still had at the time about 75 discs left from my last purchase. Here it is Thursday (the 12th), 2 days later, and I have my 200 Verbatim 16X DVD+R's in my possesion. Didn't know Buy was in Illinois too. Nothing but love for these guys now. I might just buy 200 more. EDIT:Just read my email and it says they shipped out yesterday. So I guess I should also give thanks to FedEx for bringing them to me so fast.
Yeah, FedEx usually delivers as promptly as possible. UPS, on the other hand.... I think those b*astards park around the corner looking at their watches waiting for the last possible second to deliver... My patience is razor thin, however, I've mastered the art of appearing cordial. I am a military man, so those Privates end up catching hell for all the Tom, Dick, and Jane's that may have happened to piss me off. I smoke them and then have a good laugh. LOL... It builds character!
i'm in that same dept. doc.. thank god that rima and SMS.com ship out california and so close... i'd go insane.
I think the FedEx delivery depends on the truck loaders. I've tracked packages from them and had it say 'package not due for delivery' and had it sitting at a major hub which happens to be in my city for 2+ days. That is frustating as well. Everyone has thier preference. Mine happens to be UPS. I've had more troubles with FedEx. At least my local group seem to be very reliable.
