Is it possible to buy already converted movies that can be downloaded from a dvd or hard drive to save having to go through the process of converting yourself. There seemed to be a lot for sale at one time on ebay but not now. Is that a legal issue and if not are there any suggestions of companies that sell them. Thanks.
I am not aware of any Video-On-Demand service that sells mainstream stuff and uses something like Divx, though CinemaNow comes close with it's FluxDVD downloads. But that's really just a compressed DVD and you still need to convert and burn if you want to watch it on disc, and you have copy-protection to overcome if you want a backup. And then there's the potential spyware issues... Somebody else?
