Am needing to buy a new flat panel for my new rig. I have done some research but I'm not sure which specs really matter and which don't. This monitor will be used for gaming among other things. It must be at least a 24" and sub $800 (US). Here are the monitors I have been looking at: Viewsonic VX2835WM (28") 1920x1200 .31dp 800:1 500 (brightness) 3ms (gtg) 5ms (bwb) Hor.- 24-82Hz Vert.- 50-85Hz Viewsonic VX2435WM (24") 1920x1200 1000:1 8ms (gtg) 20ms (btw) 500 (brightness) BenQ FP241W (24") 1920x1200 .27dp 1000:1 500 (brightness) 6ms (gtg) 16ms (btw) Hor. - 30-81Hz Vert. - 25-165Hz BenQ FP241VW (24") same as above except 12ms MRPT (whatever that means) Dell 2407WFP-HC (24") 1920x1200 .27dp 1000:1 400 (brightness) 6ms (gtg) States 92% accurate reproduction of color gamut....not sure what the other models will do. Hor. - 30-81Hz Vert. - 56-76Hz HP w2408 (24") 1920x1200 .28dp 1000:1 400 (brightness) 5ms (gtg) Hor. - 24-94Hz Vert. - 48-85Hz These are all close in price/features. I need some feedback to help me decide on the best ones. Please no responses containing speculation. Only facts and personal experiences with the monitors will help me. Thanks.
One of the best 24" monitors (if not the best) was the original 2407FPW. Try and get a new one of those (ideally not the HC model). They are fabulous for gaming and pretty much anything else.
