So i'm planning to buy an xbox 360 which isn't special but i only want to buy it if i know i can flash it. Is there anything i need to know about buying an ordinary system from best buy or online or anywhere...what should i look for or anything..Your help is greatly appreciated
Lindy,please try to make an attemot to find this stuff yourself on here before you post. It is all here, just read the threads.
1. The new consoles [with Benq drives] will require VIA or nForce sata chipsets either on the motherboard itself or you can buy a PCI card with via sata ports. Try ebay or dealextreme. 2. You need to have a little patience, and guts to open the console. 3. U need to be a good listener [just follow textbook's guide] 4. you need to do some reasearch... google is the ultmate resource.
If you are buying a NEW Xbox 360 becaeful because they are coming out w/Lite On drives instead of Benq drives. The lite on are not flashable as of yet. I think your best bet if you want to buy a new one is for w/the pro that has the 20gig hard drive. The arcade I heard on another trend open had a Lite On drive. If you dont mind a used one you can always try gamestop or someone from craigslist. @ least you can power on the xbox and see what kind of dvd it is by the tray.
Well, I'm with Lindy, the stickies at the top really don't point to a FAQ for him. I've read them, and posting like the above takes about the same amount of time as sending a useful link. Let me rephrase his question: Is there a Wiki or FAQ on the XBOX 360 mod/hack/flash?
