What is this rootkit he speaks of? Does anyone have any info they can fill me in on? http://c4evaspeaks.com/
A rootkit is software that enables continued privileged access to a computer while actively hiding its presence from administrators by subverting standard operating system functionality or other applications.
hes gonna prevent microsoft from checking if the slim has LT+ by incoprating a rootkit into the source code
well the status in #x360usb has been changed to coming soon on the 9504 so maybe by this weekend we will be able to flash those drives.
Right, ill have to crack open this slim then to have a look what drive is in it. Anyone know a good guide for opening the slim? I know its and n00b questions and I could look on google/youtube but I would rather someone from here point me to a tried and tested method.
I was talking to the guy and I had no idea what he meant, all I got was that you can't spoof any more even if your only going to use off-line only.
hell u can spoof any drive i done it before, not on the slim yet but on all fat boxes i have spoofed lt + with any drive
I have also. I think what they are saying is that its no longer safe to spoof your drive for online use.
before the new dash you could spoof an older drive and use it in the slim, and it would play backups.
you could get a x8 opening kit which will make opening the slim easier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yW-ubXYthT8
I am not sure if this is the place to ask, but does anybody know if there is a way to retrieve the dvd key after lt+ firmware on a drive that you have no access to the original dummy.bin? Keep in mind that tray half open does not work on lt+ firmware.
