I recently had one of my cable boxes connected to my PC and all we had to do was click on an icon for a particular software after turning on the cable reciever box, The trouble is I recently had to do a repair reinstall of my Win xp and I cannot find or reinstall that program we thought it was Intervideo but that is not panning out! If someone can direct me to the correct software, I can once again let the grandkids watch their cartoons and other programming and I can reclaim my TV after school !!! If you had a tuner card installed on your pc, the tuner card model will usually have the required tv tuner software. Find out what tuner card you had and download the tv software. For instance I have the msitvanywhere tuner card, recently I reinstalled windows and had to download the software to watch tv again. If you are unsure what card you have, you can try the free "christv lite" it's a free tv tuner software. If you have a tuner card installed on your pc, christv will find it during setup.
my graphics card was all I needed to use my cable box (at least with the software I got off the internet somewhere) Nvidea GForce 6600 is of substantial quality, and I assumed it has a built in tv reciever. Im just looking for the software I need to connect the video card to it's interface... It dont come with anything except Nero
Checking the internet I couldn't find any Nvidea GForce 6600 video cards that had a built-in tuner. the only video cards with a built-in tuner or the radeon all-in wonder and some other rare brands. How did you connect the cable box to the pc? did you use a regular coaxial cable that screws on to the card?
After some deeper thought, it deems I did install a YV card that was purchased on eBay and it did not have the drivers or utikity software with it. I recalled the name of the viewer (InterVideo WinDVR 3) and the drivers had to be downloaded Thanks for the input Joe
