Hi, I wonder if anyone can help with two cable receivers I have & neither of them are working. I tried to update my “The Box PVR” cable receiver with StarviewPVR-21122008 firmware & can only view the free channels when finished. There’s so much I don’t understand e.g.: *Am I using the right update? *Is “Starview PVR” & “The Box PVR“ The same? *Is there a different frequency / encryption system for the North East with a Virgin supply? *Where can I get information to help a complete novice update and operate? The second box I have is a Eurovox Max V which also needs updating. I have been looking at advice which has been posted on other threads but just seem to get more confused. Any advice or direction would be much appreciated.
Yes you are using the correct update for Starview The Box PVR (AS Quoted), and again, the particular box's quoted are the same one, that is the actual name The Box PVR, now it sounds to me that you have not got the AUTOUPDATE turned on, Menu - 1570 and turn it on. Hi Malci, Followed instructions and the Eurovox receiver sprang into life no problem. Followed The Box receiver instructions however, only to get stuck trying to access the CAS System Menu. I could not get to the menu as *jbvid* instructed >>> “If channels are not clearing go to Menu / System Setup / Press ok with Parental Control highlighted then press information button I, then 2007, this should put you in the CAS SYSTEM. (May need to do this a couple of times quite slowly to get into CAS SYSTEM) To get into the CAS SYSTEM menu I did the following, Menu / System Setup / Select OK with Parental Control Highlighted / Enter Pin 0000 / Confirm Pin 0000 / Select 2nd Pin / Unlock with 0000 to reveal CAS SYSTEM Menu Once revealed the Cable Network Option was set to the wrong provider. This was changed, saved and after a while the scrambled channel I selected cleared and the receiver was up and running. All I have to do now is edit / organise cannels and favourites which is a long and weary task I’ve done before. Would appreciate anyone’s advice on any shortcuts available to edit / organise the channels on “The Box PVR” if there are any available. A big thank you to Malci, jbvid & and anyone else involved in compiling the start up instructions for these machines, your help is very much appreciated. Cheers, mtglass
