I had a eurovox 5000pvr that stopped working/receiving channels in 2010 i have been watching free view since then. But i miss a lot of the channels i used to watch. I am still connected to cable and would be grateful if anyone could recommend a cable box to buy with the pvr facility.

I think the only box that works on cable at the moment is Kryptview. Try mycablebox, they are selling the KV A780 for £144 incl del & free download cable.

Thanks for your reply, but you say you only think. I don't want to spend £144. on something that doesn't work. I don't mean to sound ungrateful but can anyone confirm they or any other make works in the midlands?.

I bought a KV A780 couple of days ago, its working ok for me, im getting all sports, movie channels and the rest. its not a HD box, so you wont get any hd channels. but the box does work. You will need to connect the box direct, without any long extensions. I tried it with a long extension in the bedroom, and half the channels was not working, but when i connected it direct to the main cable, i was getting all channels without any problems. Its worth it i rekon, i be happy if i get 12 months out of it. only got 6 months out of my SV 6.

Cheers for that mate. I will buy a KV A780 then if there are no other makes on the market that work on cable.
Or there is no other opinions from anyone else in the next couple of days.

go for satelite mate..and card sharing if your budget allows you. get a HD box like (Blade 7000s HD), you get all channels including all HD channels, they are so much high in quality. but sat option means you have to pay a card sharing sub, as KV and cable, there is no sub involved, but no hd channels. if you go for satelite, look at the Blade 7000s HD box, and it will work thru your current sly dish (if you have 1).
