Cable Company shut me down,

I put an inexpensive pci tv tuner in my CPU, it worked beautifully!
The cable guy came to change out a modem gone bad, and said I was stealing cable from them to use on my computer, I had no idea. The guy put a trap out at the street, and now my great setup had gone black. Is there no recourse? I pay $42. bucks a month for the cable computer connection.

I'm a newbie here, hope I placed this in the correct place!

It's because you were sharing your high speed internet connection with your television. You have to pay for their cable TV service if you are going to do that.

My brother was doing the same thing, buying broad band and splitting it to his television. They shut him down after a month, not sure how they found out though since the cable guy was only in there once to set up the internet.

Even though internet and TV use the same damn cable you have to pay for both uses. It's terrible but they are a monopoly so theres not much you can do about it.

Honestly I'd stick with the DSL if you don't want your free cable taken away.

Thanks to all who responded to my *cable shutdown issue*
there really is nothing I can do, I use Direct Tv for the house, and only use cable for my internet, so I'm just going to buy a small tv for the computer room. The first guy who came to mess with the cable connection, a few months ago, never said a word, but the next guy was a company man, lol, and turned me in. The darn thing worked so well though..............rats!
