    Evening everyone,
I have a old Mac and am awaiting a mini vga to dvi in order to flash my lonely box. Apple do not make these cables anymore so I got one in from Hong Kong, still waiting mind, my question is this, is there anything different I should do to flash my box compared to a pc ?
Or is it all plain sailing ?

i will be very surprised if that pc flashes the box to be honest

you would be better off getting a loan of a xp pc for 20 mins

Im fairly certain none of the manufacturers have a mac version of their loaders, and you'd need a usb to com port adapter not mini vga to dvi.
DVI will only display video and thats all(Digital Visual Interface)
this is what DVI looks like, where could you even plug it into?

If you want to flash using your mac I suggest using bootcamp to dual boot XP and flash the usual way

Im starting to dislike my mac more and more these days, thank you both for your posts, I did take my box into work to try and connect and flash it there with a regular pc, but it did'ny quite happen for me. I down loaded the loader file turned on the box at the back at the same time but it did not transfer to the machine, any suggestions please .

Thank you again for your help so far.

The first thing to do is ensure that you are using the correct cable. It must be a NULL modem cable.
You also need to ensure that the COM port is set up on the pc, which it should be. You then need to ensure that your loader program is configured to use the com port that is setup.

Thanks again for your response there, I only noticed you added on exact instructions at the bottom, I think i will buy a usb version cable, it looks easier to use, especially if I have very limited time in work to play with my personnal box, I have had the box for nealy a month now, if I could pay for someone to do it for me i would, its come to that really.
Lions tour coming up time is running out.
I have about 5 people ready to purchase depending on my outcome.
    Keep well my friend.
Ill let you know how it goes.

Yes sorry about that, im in Dublin Ireland with a lovely looking brand new Kryptview, The whole of Ireland seems to be on these pages alright, The amount of work you are doing for us is great, you deserve a free holiday from us all.

Many thanks once again, I presume you are in the U.K, you don't need to respond to that question by the way.

    Over and under
