I have cable internet and I was wondering if I could watch the same television I do on my television or more channels on my computer through the internet or some other sort. Somebody told me winamp, but that just gave me some stupid only internet sites and a bunch of radio stations, which were pretty cool.

To be able to watch cable TV on your computer you would need a TV tuner card. Do you have one in your computer? Most PC's do not come with one automatically.

I had played around with TV tuner on my computer a few years back. I found it wasn't worth the effort. To be able to watch TV while you work, you need a kind of "picture in picture." Unless of course you have dual monitors. The price of the tuner card is comperable to a 13" TV, and by buying a TV, you have some extra options like portability. I enjoy taking my TV onto the deck on Sunday afternoons in September to watch football and have a beer.
